In his “Screen Saver” investigation program,” Amnon Levi exposed the biggest scandal ever involving the Israeli food industry. It was the lead story in the Israeli media and evoked overwhelming outrage at the magnitude of the Osem’s failure and the danger facing Israeli citizens.
Osem stored products outdoors, systematically and over a long period of time, in 77F - 86F instead of in deep refrigeration.

A raid by the veterinary services at Osem`s warehouse discovered 2.5 tons of spoiled and dangerous food on its way to the counters and the consumers. Fortunately, a terrible disaster was prevented. Veterinarian Dr. Tika Bar-On fears that some spoiled food had been purchased by the unsuspecting public prior to the raid with consumers totally unaware that they ate food unfit for human consumption!

Osem people tried to oppose the destruction of the dangerous spoiled products that had been seized; however, with the assistance of police – the dangerous food, unfit for human consumption, was destroyed!

The findings: Products, supposed to be frozen and refrigerated in minus 64F or in 32-39F - stayed long hours in the midsummer burning sun, with no refrigeration whatsoever!

The result: A fast development of germs generating serious diseases such as listeria and salmonella, especially dangerous to children, old people and people with a weak immune system.

After being caught red-handed, Nestle-Osem CEO, Gazi Kaplan was forced to admit the "food crime" and apologized:
"Basic and fundamental procedures for preserving the refrigeration chain were not kept."

As you may remember, Nestle, Osem`s controlling shareholder, operated and collaborated with the Nazis, and it is yet to be determined what connections remained after Nestle bought control of Osem which, for a long time, identified with being Israeli and Jewish. Those who believe that Nestle used its operations in Israel cover up a disposition to conquer Jewish symbols, had been reinforced in the past when Nestle, through Osem, took over the Tivol Corporation – a key pillar in the life Kibbutz Lohame Hagetaot (Ghetto Fighters), established to commemorate the brave fighters by the Holocaust survivors.

There is no answer yet to the question whether Nestle, which worked with the Nazi regime, is still involved in covert activity with Neo-Nazi chains; but the doubt should remain, especially due to the recent news that dangerous food products found their way to the tables of the Israeli consumers, even if it is possible that this was only a coincidence.
