A group of eminent people, including former Likud Cabinet Ministers Uzi Landau and Moshe Arens, should confront Netanyahu and politely suggest that if he does not issue a public statement to the effect that �a Likud-led government will not abide by any agreement that compromises the security of Israel,� he will lose their support.
Note: During the Likud national convention that elected Netanyahu party chairman in 1992, Mr. Landau posed such a resolution, which Netanyahu rejected on the fallacious grounds that a democracy must abide by its agreements. As for Mr. Arens, he voted against the first Camp David Accord.
